Coho Fish Camp

Salmon return to their natal rivers to spawn. Their final upstream migration returns their bodies to the land, nourishing the forest and sustaining future generations of life. This time of year is known as the salmon run and is also a time of harvest. In the past, Tlingit people used fish traps to harvest salmon, but now Heather and Mike beach seine.
