Man, I'm gonna press charges, like I need this money or I needed my motorcycle something and nothing, nothing, nothing. It's like the phone number has changed. He's like, I'll drop that off this afternoon. It'll be there by three o'clocks. So I get another era out and I got to put it on the bow, and the dude, the string is like wrapped around the wrapped around the limb, and I'm like, bro, there ain't no, I ain't got a bow press out here, so I just have to wait for this deer to like walk off and he's a dude. We would just write songs until stuff opened back up. But my first year here was just like staying at home on the weekends with my buddies and writing songs and all that. So I just got to I mean I didn't. I didn't do anything but that for the first little bit here. It's probably a crash course in songwriting though. Yeah, at least. So I just wrote songs for a while and then I signed a pubdial in twenty twenty three. Smack. Yeah, so I've been over there for a while now. But I was just like song first, like I want to make sure that my songs are getting better, and I'm not I put it. I put out a few songs back back then, though. He comes comes to town, so he was coming to town. I knew me and Johnny right all the time, Johnny Clawson and uh so we saw we saw Shane pap Umble encounter. Me and Johnny are like, dude, we got to get our ideas together. Yeah, yeah, we're going to go crush this, right. So we go in there. Shane says this idea and just like totally whatever, we're not we're not using one of ours, and we start writing the song and then Johnny in the middle of the song used John dere Blue as like a line, and I was like, dude, that's kind of like more interesting to me, and so we we chased that. We chased that down, and dude, I knew, I mean I pretty much knew as soon as we were done, and I was gonna cut it it just I love I love the reference and the flip on it and everything. And then whenever I signed over at Sony, they were like, we want this to be the first, the first one that we put out. So oh, I didn't know that that's the first one is already out that. Yeah, it's out. Awesome, dude. Yeah, and one of three three here in Nashville has been playing it a couple other places, so it's been I guess p EP's out or it's out too, Yeah, AP's out. So I was I was dating this girl back in Florida high school. You know, you think you're gonna marry this person. Yeah, totally not. But me and her were dating and she got me tickets to Luke Colmbs. I was watching Luke on Fine and I was just like, dude, this big dude with a red beard is like freaking good. Yeah, like this is awesome, right, And he reminded me of just like one of my buddies up the road in Florida. So I was like, if you know, like if he can do this and like he's making it happen like normal, me, I can do that, right, And so I was just so inspired by that and I love I love the stuff. And this girl bought me these tickets and he was opening for Brantley and Tampa at the Amphitheater. And they should call that the Tampa Theater. Dude, that is so good. Why don't they do that? How I never thought about it. We can have that Tampa theater. Dude. Yeah, you send it down, send it down. But dude, we go my Uh, my mom. We split up, me and that girl in between the I thought you and your mom split up. I was like, so solidly hit me and my mom we split up. I was a little typo in my words there, but uh use of a comment. Yeah, dude, she got me those tickets for my birthday. My mom ended up buying me better tickets before the show came around, and I gave those to my brother. And so we go to the show and my mom had gotten me meet and greets for the show. We go up there before and uh, I asked, it's funny because y'all asked me the same question that I asked Luke in the Angry because I was just like, dude, I was scared to death to talk about music I had. I knew nothing. So you're like what would your mom think you would go to prison for. You're like, if you had one day to where it was literally that yeah, because you probably ate that up. That's a great thing he did, like Africa or something. Oh yeah, right, but my dude, my mom is like, shoot, oh hood phones not a thermost, but dude. So my mom was like, if you had any advice, what would you say for a kid that wants to do what you do? So then like right before Hurricane, the last song at the time, I think it just went number one, and he's like, like, I met this kid. He walks out with the sign record and he's like, I met this kid in my meet and greet and you know, I saw a lot of myself and him, and I see him he's sitting right there and points at me. No way this part of the story, dude. So I'm behind I'm behind a phone, like my little phone recording the whole thing. Like I'm like so pumped to go home and watch watch the show again. Right, And so my mom's like, McCoy go and I dropped the phone and run up there and grab this things CD. We go back to the seats and my mom like, I'm I'm like losing it at this point, right, I'm sixteen. So what does he say from the stage, I met this guy. I see a lot of myself in and then I want to give him a CD. I remember, Yeah, he was like I remember what it was like when I was first starting out. I'm like yeah, And she's with Ethan Strunk and your mom's a dog rob Yeah, dog dude. I don't know what transpired, but I walk up there and I'm like, dude, this is the craziest thing in the world. Sure enough, Ethan's like, yeah, man, you'll come back. So we go back there Luke's chilling, smoke a cigarette, just hanging out and we went on the bus for like an hour and a half and he gave me a bunch of advice and no way, that's awesome and that not dude. I didn't even like I didn't even play it. No accord on the guitar, like nothing, never sang, never played like wow. And I went home that night and that was the That was when I was like, Okay, I'm going to learn how to play. What a great story. I'm glad you take that crazy. Sorry I tried to end the episode. So we get there and they have like you know when you when you're that huge, just they just have people doing stuff, right, there's just people doing stuff. Yeah, dude, So we go to the beach, the other girl making sure all the ducks stay in the pool, like the thousand ducks. This gal thanks for just completely highjacking story dumps a box of like I'm serious estimate. Apparently my estimations are off today, but I would say between three and four hundred ducks, little duckies, dude. And they had like like there was like colonial ducks, then there was like rap artist ducks. Then there was like army duck, Camo ducks. They were all different, and so our kids are like, what I mean, there's just ducks. Funny world it is, I mean that whole. But but it's like you're just trying to get some sort of constant entertainment so that you can look at it and go, hey, man, how's it going good? Okay, good, good see you. Even though, yeah, even though you spent eight hours with that person in a day, three minutes worth of conversation, maybe clean conversation, aid hanger is different existence with it because we all have I got three hundred six, he's got two under three. Uh Luke's got two under three, about to have another one. I mean it is. It's pretty wild, y'all. I mean, godly, dude, that's it's got to be cool though, like watching like well, I mean watching your friends have kids and y'all having kids at the same time and stuff, because I'm I'm like, I have all sorts of buddies back home even here that are having kids, and it's so cool to watch. My favorite thing about Bootleggers is Dylan and Ella were there and so our kids were like, he's got a six year old girl, I got a three year old girl that they think they had two little turtles. Turtles and they named it one Dila and the other was Marlow. Like, so we're like at Luke's house and they're like they don't even like he's looks on stage and they're like, nah, uncle Luke passed me. Uncruss like, hey, uncle Luke, you think we can meet Delan Marlow? Dude, that is amazing, dude, You're you're asking your uncle Luke. Comblow. That's shout. I love that. Dylan and and Ella like they took pictures with our kids, took them to the stage and stuff, walked them on stage with her and that is a yeah. They're like they're going to mee Dylan, y'all want to go. We're like, now we'll see Sony Coconut ice cream and chill love you though, Yeah, dude, that's that's awesome though. Man, it's cool.
